Orthopaedic Surgery Specialists (OSS) is comprised of five orthopaedic physicians and three physician assistants. OSS takes care of patients’ musculoskeletal health in a respectful manner. The physician’s practice is in the greater Los Angeles area (Burbank); they are associated with Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center and ambulatory surgery centers in the area. The practice prides itself on tradition, respect and state-of-the-art patient care. OSS is a BUSY practice and wants to hire individual(s) who are committed to teamwork, excellence, and personalized care with the patients.
OSS Elite Physical & Hand Therapy was opened in September 2016 by OSS to provide their patients and the community with excellent rehabilitative patient care and develop a direct team approach between OSS physicians and the therapy team.
OSS Elite Physical and Hand Therapy is an outpatient orthopaedic rehabilitative center comprised of a Physical Therapy Department and a Hand Therapy Department. Each department has over 50 years of experience combined to provide patients with the expertise required for successful outcomes.
At OSS Elite Physical & Hand Therapy, your best health is our number one goal. We provide the community with personalized, one-on-one rehabilitative and conditioning care to aid in your recovery and return to all the activities you love. Our team is skilled in manual therapy and exercise techniques and uses the most current and evidence-based methods to help restore function and decrease pain so you heal faster.
Physical Therapy (PT) is traditionally recommended by your physician to aid in recovering from an injury or surgery. But physical therapy is much more than rehabilitation. As Physical Therapists, we guide patients along a healing path toward improved overall fitness and function, prevention of injury, and prevention of surgery when possible.
OSS Elite Physical & Hand Therapy is unique because we also specialize in Hand Therapy. This means we’re able to treat a variety of specific hand conditions and issues such as finger and wrist fractures, tendon lacerations or ruptures, muscle strains, ligament laxity, autoimmune diseases, joint deformities, tendinitis, pain disorders, nerve compressions and dystonia.
As our patient, symptom management techniques are discussed in your first visit to minimize re-injury and tissue aggravation. Soft tissue mobilization and myofascial release techniques are used to release tight joints, glide soft tissue, and circulate fluids to optimize muscle and joint function. Splinting or taping, if needed, is customized to your specific condition. And we’ll teach you ways to manage any fluctuations in symptoms or pain.
Therapeutic exercises are used to resolve problems caused by disuse, weakness and lack of coordination. We continuously monitor and modify activity so our patients are able to get back on their feet sooner without harming the healing tissue. We also use ultrasound, electric stimulation, low level light therapy, paraffin, contrast baths, hot packs, and cold packs as necessary.
In addition, we provide postural and back education assessments, video analysis of movement patterns, home exercise plans, osteoporosis strengthening, sports enhancement, pre-operative screenings and treatment, fall prevention and balance programs, post-mastectomy surgery care, generalized and specialized strength training as well as instruction in maintaining and improving flexibility, stability, and agility.
Most importantly, we work as a team with your physicians to provide you with the finest care and an outstanding overall patient experience.
Please feel free to call our office to ask about our services or take a tour of our brand new, state of the art facility.
“I commend Jeanna Barsamian and the staff at OSS Elite Physical & Hand Therapy. In September I was suffering from hip pain caused by arthritis and exercise strain. I was prescribed Physical Therapy for a month by Dr. Yacoubian at Orthopaedic Surgery Specialists before shots or other treatments.
I was greeted at OSS Elite Physical & Hand Therapy the first day by very cordial receptionists, who arranged for the appointments. Jeanna was very professional and skilled in the physical manipulation of my hips and legs. The exercises which she followed up with were monitored by her assistant, Chelsea who was also supportive and reassuring.
After two weeks I began to see some improvement. By the end of the month, I was able to get in and out of the car and up and down from chairs without wincing in pain. My fears of being permanently disabled were dispelled. Thank you to OSS Elite Physical & Hand Therapy staff for calming my anxieties and selecting the right treatment.”
